Best Price Point!
I was looking for the best price point in a relatively small but big enough to hold roof prism binocular for all around use--travel, hiking, birdwatching, and so on, and these Bushnell "Excursion" 8x28 Compact Roof Prism Binoculars are what I came up with.

Comparing them directly with other similar binos at a local retail store these jumped out at me and said, "Here I Am!". Ok, I over exagerate, but talking is about the only thing these binos don't do, and do well. They have the look and feel of similar styled binoculars costing literally $100's more. Very good optics, very bright, very clear. With 3.5mm Exit Pupils they are relatively easy to align with the pupil of one's eye. Some of the lesser compact binos can be very persnickety in this regard. Twist Out eye cups work great. With 28mm Lens and "Fully" multicoated as well they are much brighter than one might think under low light conditions. That they also have "PC-3" phase coating and Bak-4 Prisms simply puts these binoculars over the top. Binoculars with these features for less than $100 is simply amazing.

Other features include a very nice neck strap. Actually has some width and padding to it. It also has quick release fasteners that make it very easy to take the strap off the binos if you want to. You will not need to get a nicer strap so that you are comfortable as is the case with many other binos. Both the Ocular lens "Raingard" cover and the Objective Lens covers are tethered to the binos. Very slick. The focusing wheel is large and very responsive. With 15mm eye relief they should work with most glasses or without with a simple twist of the eye cups. They feel secure in their extended non-eyeglass position. Something that cannot be said for some of the push up style eye cups that tend to collapse. The binos also come with a semi-hard case that is very nice, imo. It is divided and has room for a notepad and pencil and cleaning supplies. Very, very nice, imo.

These should make a great pair of easy to carry binos that one can take just about anywhere for just about any purpose and look good doing it. Did I mention they are both Waterproof and Fogproof--O-Ring Seals and Nitrogen Purging...

As an aside. Not that it proves anything, but, Bushnell is the largest Optics company in the world. In fact, Bushnell has the largest market share in "all" of the sports optics categories.

In my opinion, after quite a lot of research online and hands on at my local Bass Pro, for the money the Bushnell "Excursion" line of binoculars simply cannot be matched, let alone beat.. Lifetime Warranty.

Eyepiece filters are an invaluable aid in lunar and planetary observing. They reduce glare and light scattering, increase contrast through selective filtration, increase definition and resolution, reduce irradiation, and lessen eye fatigue. Celestron's filters are made of high-quality, solid plane parallel glass with excellent homogeneity. They're anti-reflection coated to prevent glaring and ghosting. All eyepiece filters are threaded to fit Celestron's, and most other manufacturer's, 1-1/4-inch eyepieces, and offer a full 26mm clear aperture.

Celestron color filters are mounted in black anodized aluminum cells with the Kodak Wratten Series Number individually engraved, and come available in assorted kits packed in plastic cases. The cells of each filter are double-threaded, so they can be stacked (piggybacked) in various combinations. This allows you to create different color combinations and transmission characteristics, or to have the same color characteristic, but with a lower transmission. When stacking color filters, the effective transmission of the combination you create is equal to the product of the spectral transmission of each of the filters used.

Night Vision
This was a gift for my husband. One of our local parks offers nite hikes and we often go on them. I bought this so that we could see wildlife such as owls, deer, etc. at night. It works great and is very useful. This was a great gift at a good price.

National Geographics Night Owl NGM3X Night Vision Monocular
This product works very well. It uses 2 AA batteries (alkaline or NiMh rechargeable) instead of what many other night vision scopes use, CRM123 lithium batteries (expensive!).

The built-in, switchable infrared illuminator lights objects up like a spotlight (invisible to the naked eye) for around a hundred yards or so, but even without it, most nights you can see pretty much everything.

The focus on the main lens is good, and there is an adjustment for you to adjust to your own eye in the eyepiece too. This unit magnifies the view by 3 times, which is good, but sometimes I would have liked a little more magnification.

This unit comes with a zippered case and adjustable hand strap. It also comes with a screw on lens cover (no tether, so be careful not to misplace it!) with a tiny hole in it so you can turn on the unit during the day and adjust the focuses.

You must be careful never to turn on the unit without the lens cover in a brightly lit area, or you risk burning out the infrared viewing element. One other thing I've observed...even after you have "powered off" the unit, the viewing element continues to work for several minutes, so remember to put the lens cover back on BEFORE going back to a fully lit area!

Good quality for the price

I just bought them today at a drug store and I have had no problems.
Compaired to the 1960's 1 by 46 Binoculars have its a huge upgrade.
I would suggest this to anyone who wants to start off with star gazeing or bird watching.

horrible quality
My 8 year old son got this product as a present from a friend for his birthday. While they look very impressive at a first glance, I have never seen and could not have imagined that binoculars can be as bad in both material quality and construction design. We've owned this for less than a day and the plastic frame has already got two small cracks in it - even though they have not been dropped and were handled VERY carefully. This is the worst quality plastic normally reserved for cheap chinese toys. Furthermore, both eyepieces are fixed via a loose screw in the middle and their wobble disrupts focus first and collinearity second. No adjustment of the screw helps since eyepieces are bigger diameter than the tubes they're fit on anyways. The focus adjustment is not smooth and when I try to adjust the single eyepiece focus, the eyepiece just unscrews and falls out.
Bacically, DON'T EVER BUY THESE BINOCULARS!!! They're not a bargain but a waste of your money.

Great mount for a low price.
I was looking for a cheap way to mount a scope on my ar-15 without going through all the hassle and expense of installing a flat top receiver. This was the perfect solution to my problem.

It came in a nice sturdy little box which can be saved for later storage. The mount seems to be very well built and fits snugly into the carry handle. It was actually a little too snug and i made a very deep scratch in the finish when i first installed it( a little lube will probably fix this problem). After that simply hand tightening the nut onto the screw seems to be sufficient to hold it in place. I've put 500 rounds through my rifle so far and it hasn't needed tightening.

Problems i had:
1. The item is labeled on amazon as a weaver rail when it is in fact a picatinny rail. The difference between these is that the slot spacing on a weaver is 3.8mm and on a picatinny its 5mm. This can cause a problem when you're expecting a weaver rail and order rings that lock into the slots ahead of time WARNE 200M 1IN RINGS LOW MAT . The rings still work because they have side screws that tighten but the whole reason i bought them was that they locked into the slot. So just be warned it's NOT a weaver rail.

2. The price of the item is a very good deal but the shipping rates of the two companies that sell it on amazon are insane. If you find it anywhere else it will probably be more expensive but id go for it just to avoid paying their exorbitant shipping costs.

Other than that, the see through iron sights just take a little getting used to. But thats something i think all see through mounting systems require and not a specific problem with this product.

THIS IS A 2 CHANNEL HELICOPTER
The description is ABSOLUTELY FALSE/MISLEADING. The helicopter contols only consist of a thottle (up/down) and tail rotor (spin lt/rt). IT DOES NOT HAVE FORWARD AND BACK CONTROL. The helicopter is (apparently) balanced so that in flight, it has a slightly forward tilt which results in a forward motion. It appears to be fairly stable, but I cannot tell for sure because the tail rotor did not work on mine, (NEW RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX.)

I have bought four different RC toys via the internet. NONE of them have worked.

Each model has a large, 50mm objective lens to offer maximum image brightness even in low light conditions, like dusk and dawn.

The 7 x 50 IR/RC binocular has a built-in rangefinder with a backlit compass which allows for distance calculations and directional information. It is also completely waterproof allowing it to go in any weather condition. The lenses are dry nitrogen charged and sealed with internal O-rings to assure prevention of internal fogging. The individual eyepiece focus with diopter, scale for quick, accurate focusing and give excellent depth of field for minimal focus adjustments.

Great Value
These binoculars offer a great combination of features for the price. The built-in compass is a very valuable on the water, and the backlighting works very nicely in the dark. Eyepiece adjustments worked very well for me and produced crisp viewing. The rangefinder scale is easy to use and may come in handy.

For the money, maybe the best 7x50's out there
I have written a long review on the Steiner 7x50 Commander V Binoculars. Much of what I wrote in that review applies to these binocs, as they are still 7x50's...... so if you are trying to decide if 7x50 is right for you, then read that review on amazon. If you want general information on selecting the right binoculars, my Canon 10x42L binocular review is more detailed and explains many of the technical issues of binoculars in general.

All visual optics are a function of their optical design, build quality, and mostly their visual experience.....then, you compare all this to the selling price. Clearly, these binocs are simply spectacular for their modest price. I could nit pick a few items, but the price / quality is so exceptional, it would be unfair to Celestron. They packed a lot of quality in these binocs for an amazingly low price, thanks to a good optical design, well executed build quality, good QA and an amazing warranty.

Are there better 7x50's? Sure..... but they are often much more expensive, $300 + and the differences in quality will not justify the price differentials to the avg person... as very small gains in image quality / features, often will increase the selling price 2x - 5x.

BTW, these binocs demonstrate to me, just how good Chinese optical manufacturing is becoming through the years. 15 years ago, these binocs could have NEVER come out of china with this much quality. Of course, some of the credit must go to Celestron for the design and the QA.

Of course, my comments are directed to the non compass version of these binocs also.

A fine navigation tool
A close crossing with an inbound ship on the outbound side of the shipping lanes (and a mile outside of the wrong lane to boot) reminded me that it isn't enough to know where you are, and assume ships will stay in their designated lanes. Not only do you need to see them clearly from a distance, you need an accurate bearing to detect potential collision course. It was this incident that drove my decision to buy this piece of safety equipment without delay.

I was very impressed when I took these glasses out of the box, they have a solid, high-quality look and feel -- from the optics (clarity is awesome) and adjustments, all the way down to the case they come with (padded, solid closure, orange trim for visibility at night.)

Perhaps the feature that lets the Celestron Oceana stand toe-to-toe with much more expensive models, is the quality of its built-in bearing compass. Liquid dampening is a must, out on the ocean, without this a compass is nearly useless. More, I checked its accuracy against the fluxgate compass built into my GPS, it's exactly on. And its backlight is ideal, the compass is easy to read down to the degree, day or night.

I did have a tiny bit of difficulty seeing the compass at first glance, but quickly realized that the rubber eye cups and my nose were keeping the lenses a little higher than desirable. Very slight downward pressure corrects their position.

Over all I'm very pleased with the purchase, and given the Celestron no-fault lifetime warranty, I'm sure I'll be using them for years to come.

Unbelievable!
This was my Christmas gift to myself. I must have been good this year. Currently I have only two eyepieces, one is the 25mm that came with it, the other is a 20mm I already had. Those give me 48x and 60x magnification respectively. The optics should support much higher magnifications. So far I am blown away. I've seen the Orion nebula, amazing detail in the moon, Venus resolved to a very large disk, and the rings of Saturn. Even from my light polluted south St. Louis backyard I can make out two of Saturn's moons.
It is very portable, weighing about 35lbs, mount and all. If I decide to drive out to a suburban park on a moments notice, I can have it disassembled, packed and in my car in five minutes. Then setup is equally fast. I can pick it up and walk anywhere with it. I can't wait to get some higher power eyepieces and drive out to some darker rural skies. For a guy who so far has only owned a pair of 20x80 binoculars and a cheap refractor when I was a child, this thing is unbeatable for the price. If you are thinking about buying a refractor, this might be the one.

5 Stars but I Suggest You DON'T Buy It.
I just picked up one of these scopes and I can't say enough good about it. I love EVERY part of it. It is easy to carry in and out of my garage. The optics are great. It is easy to use. It is not designed for photography, but that's ok with me. I like my new scope.

Q. So . . . why wouldn't I endorse it?

A. If I had it to do over I would go for the 8" model. The 8" is about the largest aperature that I could lug in and out of my garage and it gathers substantially more light. I purchased mine because I got a good deal and couldn't afford the 8". Now I've got aperture fever and want bigger and bigger (at least as big as I can handle).

If you just don't have the money for the 8", do not worry. The 6" will allow you to see enough to keep you busy for years, perhaps a lifetime. If I ever succumb to aperture fever and purchase a larger model, I think I'll keep my 6" for its portability. I really like this scope! Yep, that's it, a big gun for home and a grab and go for the road.

HUGE bang for buck
It is unbelievable to me that a scope this good can be had for this price. Six inches is a LOT of aperture. Forget those little blue rigs with the computerized pointing--you don't need a computer to find stuff, you need *aperture* so you can actually see it. Download some free planetarium software (like Stellarium), buy a sky atlas, and get a nice fat telescope like this one. You'll enjoy it more because the views will actually be good enough to linger over, and you can take pride in finding observing targets on your own. If you want a computer to do all the work, why even buy a telescope? Stay on the couch and surf for some Hubble images.

The scope is rock solid, it was in nearly perfect collimation right out of the box, and I put it together in about an hour while I watched TV. Then it was out the back door and BAM! The moon looks so good you may get stuck there for a while. Cloud belts on Jupiter are a breeze, as are the rings of Saturn. Star clusters look like diamonds scattered on black velvet. Galaxies and nebulas seduce your eyeballs until you realize that it's well past midnight and you're frozen half to death.

One warning: the best scope for you is the one you will use the most. At 35 lbs assembled this is about as much scope as I want to be moving by myself. So think about the weight. If you decide it would keep you from using this scope very often, get a smaller one. Orion's XT4.5 is this thing's little brother, it weighs half as much, and it has gotten uniformly good reviews just about everywhere.

One last thing: Dobsonians are not useful for most kinds of astrophotography but I have taken some stunning pictures of the moon just by holding my digital camera up to the eyepiece of this telescope. Give it a try--you may end up decorating your entryway with moon photos you took yourself.

Fair price for quality
I appreciate the quality of these binoculars. Field of view is decent and optics are crystal clear. The relatively flimsy case that is provided could be a little nicer. The binoculars fit snugly within it, and there is little room for the strap. You must allow the strap, which is connected to the binoculars, to exit the case and essentially act as the case strap. Eyepiece covers leave a bit to be desired. Overall, a good purchase, though. Optics were what I was after.

Excellent Performance and Value
This is as good as it gets for the money and better than some very expensive binoculars. Bright, sharp, comfortable, "compact" and solid. For the price, it has no equal in the mid-size range for all that it gives you.

These are great, enough said.
These are great. I bought them as a birthday gift for my husband and he loves them. We own several other pair and these are by far the nicest. Our Bushnell's are not as nice. If your looking for a nice pair at a good price I would recommend these.

Great entry level binos for Stargazer!

before I purchased Nikon 7*50 binocular,I searched the internet for various brands and models, it seems this one is the best considering its
ratio of performance over price.I wear a eyeglass usually,and the eye cup of this model is foldable,because it has long eye relief(17mm? I can not remember exactly).the wide field of view and great focusing power makes it very suitable for watching the night sky. the images are sharp compared with dark background ,you can see much more stars than your naked eye!I highly recommend this model to those entry level Ameteur Astromomers!

Good value
Clear, bright image. Comfortable eye cups, which can be removed if you wear glasses. I do wear glasses, but my astigmatism is mild, and I am able to adjust the diopter on these binoculars to enable me to use them without my glasses. My only minor complaint is that the lens caps aren't permanently attached to the strap. Instead, they hook on to the strap after you remove them from the lenses. The hook holds them fine, but I plan to use these for sailing, and I suspect it won't be long until I drop one in rough seas while fumbling to hook it on the strap. The eyecup caps don't have this issue, since the strap goes through a loop, and they are attached permanently.

NOT NIGHT VISION AT ALL - MORE GARBAGE FROM CHINA
These so-called night vision binoculars are NOT night vision AT ALL.

Not only could we not see ANYTHING through them at night, but the quality of the focus is poor and the materials and workmanship are also inferior.

When using the one-eye vision focus ring on the right-lens (the first step to customizing the focus to suit your own vision) the range of focus was insufficient to make the focus clear enough (and my eyesight is NOT that bad).

THEN, when manipulating the focus knob in the center to focus for both eyes, the range of focus was also inadequate for bringing the image in sharply for both eyes together.

The entire body of the binoculars is also assembled very cheaply... the moving parts all feel too loose, and when I tried to fold back the cuffs on the eyepieces so that I could use them with my glasses on, the rubber cuffs pulled all the way off the lenses, and were extremely difficult to put back on. It felt like the whole lens casing was bending and getting loose just from the pressure of trying to push the little rubber lens cuffs back on.

I am still awaiting a return email from the seller regarding their return policy. I sent the first email the day I received this inferior product, and that was over three days ago. If I don't hear back from them, I suppose I will have to go through the Amazon claims process to get my money back. $%^&*#@!!!!!!!!

What a pain in the place where the sun don't shine (and where these binoculars would definitely NOT enable you to see).

I hope I didn't accidentally contaminate myself with melamine when I handled these crummy things. I certainly would NOT give them to a child for Christmas.

A laser rangefinder is a distance-measuring instrument that uses laser technology to calculate the distance to targeted objects. Accuracy is +/- 1 yard, and the distance is displayed instantaneously on a built-in, through-the-lens Liquid Crystal Display.

How a Laser Rangefinder Works
Bushnell's Yardage Pro rangefinders use an invisible, eye-safe Class 1 Laser beam (as classified by the FDA) which is "bounced" off distant objects with the press of a button. Then, the rangefinder's high-speed digital clock measures the time it took for a laser beam to reach a target and return to the unit. Next, using advanced digital electronics, the rangefinder instantly calculates the distance within +/- 1 yard and shows the range in either yards or meters on a through-the-lens LCD Display. The entire process is so fast that less than a second elapses between the time you press the button to generate a laser beam to the time the exact range to your target is displayed.

Reflectivity of Target Types
Because rangefinders "bounce" a laser beam off the target in order to take a measurement, their range is partially determined by the reflectivity of the target. In other words, hard or "reflective" targets -- like a rock cliff or semi-truck -- can be measured at greater distances than soft surface targets, like a deer. Ranges for moderately reflective targets, like trees, fall somewhere in the middle. Most experienced hunters will use their rangefinder to frequently estimate ranges to near and distant landmarks before they actually encounter a game animal. I purchased both the Skycaddie and GolfBuddy; I returned them both. This particular laser rangefinder is so versatile, I'm so glad I purchased it and for sure, this unit is a definite KEEPER! The pinseeker mode is so sweet that it automatically seeks the pin for you despite all the landscapes in the background - it gives you the distance to the closest object. So it doesn't matter if your silly hands are shaking, just put the crosshair over the pin and as soon as it hits the pin, you get the reading. You can even aim at the players standing over the green if you're waiting and as soon as someone returns the flagstick back into the hole, aim at that person instead as it's a bigger target and you get your yardage within "ONE SECOND." Yeah, that's how fast this thing is. You can aim at anything in that hole; something that a GPS can't do for you. GPS rangefinder are set to give you the bunker and water hazard reading and maybe 150 yd. layup. This Bushnell Pinseeker gives it justice when you're out there practicing in the driving range - you can get the actual reading of the flags so you know how far you're actually hitting your shots. Something that a GPS can't definitely do for you. No annual subscription required and the hassle of downloading or requesting courses. It's a very straight forward unit. No more looking for yard markers and sprinker head which saved me a great deal of time and guessing = speeds up play. It's worth the investment! So, what are you waiting for?
